POSITION:

This Office Department position is to serve as a member of the Public Relations Committee to provide and implement marketing strategies to improve Rainbow Grocery’s business and drive its community activities.

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Work as member of the Public Relations Committee with direction from the Board of Directors and the Office Department to increase Rainbow’s sales and customer count in collaboration with the greater store, manage Rainbow’s advertising campaigns, online presence, represent the store to the public, coordinate signage, respond to customer comments and coordinate in-store and community activities. The Office Department will be responsible for hiring and evaluating the PR/ Marketing Coordinator position with participation by the Board of Directors and the elected Public Relations Committee members. 30 hours per week

 

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

The PR/ Marketing Coordinator must be experienced in public relations and marketing, have a strong knowledge of Rainbow’s history, products, its operations, have strong interpersonal and cooperative work skills, be proficient with online marketing tools, be able to communicate clearly and accurately with large groups.

 

WAGES AND BENEFITS:

Starting pay $16.31/hr; with potential increase to $16.81/hr at 3 months and $17.31/hr at 9 months. Full medical/dental/vision insurance for full-time workers (25 or more hours/week); 401(k) retirement plan; six paid holidays; pay for time off (vacation, sick and personal days); profit sharing (“patronage”) upon becoming a member-owner of cooperative (vast majority of workers have become members in first year).
