A collectively-owned radical bookstore and community event space
Our co-operative is looking to dramatically expand revenue from business-to-business sales and offsite events, including school book fairs, conferences, and festivals. We are seeking someone who has relevant professional experience to plan and oversee growth in these areas.
Responsibilities
- Building relationships and cultivating partnership opportunities with local schools, businesses, and other organizations
- Managing existing relationships
- Pitching, planning, and overseeing the execution of school book fairs and off-site sales events, including:
- Developing and presenting event proposals
- Serving as point of contact with schools and event organizers
- Coordinating logistics such as inventory, staffing, and operations in collaboration with the collective
- Preparing debriefs/retrospectives, including tracking event sales and assessing profit and loss on an ongoing basis and via year end reporting
Requirements
- Effective and persuasive communication skills; both oral and written
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills
- Ability to work under pressure and balance multiple projects at one time
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks to meet assigned deadlines
- Knowledge of office software (esp. spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel)
