Job Description:
Primarily responsible for processing payroll and assisting with benefits administration for all employees; also helping to support the administrative needs of the Canton, MA location.

Starting Salary: | $15.50/hour + depending upon experience |

Qualifications:
- An interest in the mission of Equal Exchange
- Experience with or interest in working for a cooperative organization preferred
- Attention to detail
- Organization and time management skills critical
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Friendly manner; a team player
- Ability to work independently
- Computer experience required
- Experience with payroll processing and ADP WorkForce Now a plus
- Experience in benefits administration a plus
Primary Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly payroll and maintain employee information in ADP WorkForce Now
- Create and maintain personnel files
- Update worksheets that summarize employee census information
- Process insurance and 401(k) paperwork for new hires, terminations, enrollment periods, or employees with a status change
- Complete requests from insurance and 401(k) companies for periodic census information
- Review insurance invoices and approve for payment
- Maintain required records for Section 125 benefit
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Assist with administrative needs of Canton, MA office, including:
- Sort and distribute incoming mail
- Maintain postage meter and supplies
- Purchase and maintain office supplies
- Ensure continuous operation of office equipment and telephones
Personnel & Worker Ownership/Fair Trade Development:
- Participate in staff, team, department, and educational (Exchange Time) meetings.
- Understand our producer partners, trading policies, and the Fair Trade movement.
- Understand and participate effectively in our worker cooperative model.
