Bills like The Main Street Employee Ownership represent an important step toward broader awareness and use of employee ownership as an opportunity for workers and businesses owners in need of a strong succession strategy.

Hear from the USFWC staff about the Main Street Employee Ownership act as well as our work with the office of Congressman Keith Ellison, and get to know how these bills will grow and support worker owners in the future. You’ll also hear updates about the Policy and Advocacy Council and how you can apply this work at the local and state levels.

The Union Co-ops Council has a vision of a worker-driven, cooperative economy with workplace and economic democracy for all. We’re working to build bridges between worker cooperatives and organized labor. The Council is an all-volunteer, virtual organization that has been operating since 2007.

About the Presenter:
Mo Manklang is the Director of Communications of the U.S. Federation of Worker Cooperatives, and a creative strategist focusing on cooperatives and organizing. She has been convening people in cooperatives and social impact for the past twelve years in Philadelphia in a variety of roles, including five years with Philadelphia news and events group Generocity.org. Mo currently serves on the board of Philadelphia Area Cooperative Alliance and the Sustainable Business Network of Philadelphia, the Media and Marketing Committee of the Kensington Community Food Co-op.
