I believe in liberation and I think that business-as-usual operations don’t win toward liberation at all.
That’s Peer Advisor Fellow LaTierra Piphus, one of 10 worker-owners who joined the Peer Advisor Fellowship in 2024. This program equips worker-owners with tools to provide expert support to worker cooperatives in their communities.
LaTierra shared, “I’m already learning a lot but being able to help people apply that is gonna be fantastic. That’s the way I want to activate my liberation in this moment.”
The worker ownership movement is growing—especially in Black, Brown, and working-class communities that have historically been excluded from the benefits of the old economy. Worker cooperatives are changing that, creating an economy that works for everyone.
But to support the growing U.S. worker co-op movement, we need your help.
We’ve already surpassed our original fundraising goal of $15,000, and set a new stretch goal of raising $20,000 by 12/31. With $16,825 raised so far, we’re almost there! Can you make a contribution today?
We launched the Peer Advisor (PA) Fellowship in 2024, and with your support, in 2025 we will:
- Expand the PA Fellowship into an apprenticeship program
- Bring co-op education to lawmakers,
- Deepen our international partnerships in collaboration with the National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA-CLUSA)
- Start planning the 2026 Worker Co-op Conference—it’ll be here before you know it!
- And a lot more
Worker co-ops can make an economy that works for all. We deserve nothing less. Together, we can ensure worker-owned businesses have the support they need to thrive, not just next year but for generations.
In cooperation,
U.S. Federation of Worker Cooperatives
