The House of Representatives passed the Main Street Employee Ownership act (HR 5236), now it’s on to the Senate! Our Executive Director Esteban Kelly participated in a press conference on May 21 at Brooklyn Stone and Tile, a converted worker co-op.
This bill will greatly help worker co-ops by providing financing for conversion costs to employee ownership, make SBA 7(a) loans more accessible to cooperative businesses, and promote employee ownership.
